Each and every book, which belongs to the library, will have a colour code on the base of its spine, which refers to its category. A list of these categories can be found next to the books themselves.
Below is a summary of how to use the library:
Taking a book:
• Choose your book(s)
• Remove the white ticket from the inside of the book
• Place this white ticket into a ticket holder, which can be found in the small grey box on the shelf
• Write your name on the front of this ticket holder (first time only)
• Place the ticket holder with the white ticket inside back into the small grey box, which is sorted alphabetically by surname.
Returning a book:
• Remove the white ticket from your ticket holder.
• Put the white ticket back into the pocket inside the book.
• Place the book back onto the shelf in the correct category.
• Return your ticket holder to the small grey box until next time.
To make browsing easier you can locate your book(s) in the following ways:
1. Browse through the shelves, which are sorted by category.
2. Browse through one of the book listings which are sorted by
a) author, b) title or c) category
There is no time restrictions of how long you may keep your book(s), however please bear in mind that others may also want to read the same book(s). We ask that books are returned as soon you have finished with them and if possible within 4 weeks.
Please remember that this library is unmanned and so we rely on our members using the above system to ensure it’s smooth running.
Recommendations, reviews and donations are gratefully received and can be done so through Fiona Woolley. <-- Back to Library. |
