The school summer holiday soon draws to a close. We’re now all hands-on-deck to getting classrooms ready, programmes of work sorted out and a host of other things done ready for the new school year in two weeks time.
The Lord has been leading Pam to reach out for the Lord in the direction of behind church/school where we rarely travel. Some of our children live in this area. Pam took two teachers with her last week (for both safety and translation) and were shocked at what they saw. Poverty in this area has to be seen to be believed and brought tears to their eyes. Many are living as squatters and literally have virtually nothing to their names, just the same as the Aetas in the mountains. The part we drive through to reach school is fairly affluent, but at the other side of school real poverty abounds. It is so humbling and such a privilege to minister to these people and bring the word of God where it is desperately needed.
Our covered area by our playground is finally complete. It seems so huge and has seating around the sides. What a wonderful blessing it is! Children will be able to play outside regardless of burning sunshine or torrential monsoon downpours. We are just so thrilled!
During Summer School in a children’s church service they were asked to tell everyone about God’s love for them. One of our most emaciated little boys said, “Without M’am Pam and Sir Martin I would not be able to eat much food because my family are so poor.” He then thanked us for setting up the school where he could learn to read & write. Both Pam and I were soon in tears!
We believe the Lord is telling us to have one or more intercessors to pray every day for our work in school, church and with outreach. It is a big undertaking and must be taken seriously. The Lord must have his reasons for telling us this. Please, if interested, pray about it and let us know if you feel able to take the task!
Health, strength and energy for all of us here
More and more of our children to know the Lord
God bless and much love from,
